New spyshots have surfaced regarding the all new Bentley Continental Flying Spur V8 which is scheduled to debut either at the end of this year or early 2014. The new Flying Spur V8 will feature the new Audi-derieved 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 500 bhp and feature 478 ft-lbs of torque.
This new engine, which are one of the smallest engines put in a Bentley throughout the company’s history, has been widely accepted by journalists all over even though many were skeptical at first. This “baby” Bentley will be up to 40% more efficient than its bigger W16 brother while retaining enough oomph for those that have a need for speed. Prices have not be fixed but many predict that it should not cost that much more than the Continental GT V8, its 2-door cousin.
Although it is hard to tell from the pictures what the car looks like, judging from Bentley’s past styling cues, it is expected to look very similar to the current Continental GT V8, albeit in a 4-door body. Tell-tale signs that giveaway the fact that this is indeed the V8 model includes the figure 8 tail-pipes, red badges and signature V8 wheels.
Being at a more affordable price level than the W16 Continental Flying Spur, this would allow more potential customers to buy into the Bentley liftstyle, competing with the Maserati Quattroporte, which similarly also sports a V8 engine.
Keep checking back to see when Bentley will unveil the brand spanking new Continental Flying Spur V8 without all its camo. We’re pretty certain it isn’t going to disappoint.
