Bentley SUV EXP 9 F Confirmed, 2000 Orders Taken

Good news! For those of you who are looking forward to the launch of Bentley’s new foray into the SUV market, apparently Bentley’s Director of Sales, Kevin Rose has confirmed that the much-awaited SUV will be going into production sometime in 2015. Bentley has been teasing the press and the public for the past 2 years with their concept car, the EXP 9 F, which we wrote about in an earlier article.

Having brought the concept EXP 9 F to various auto shows and even allow editors to photograph the car in details, we were suspicious on whether the car would make it into production considering the fact that no working drive train was ever put in the car. Also, aside from the physical presence of the car, no other details were ever released about the would-be SUV from Bentley.

With the success of popular SUVs such as the Range Rover Sport, Porsche Cayenne, and the upcoming Aston Martin SUV, Bentley must have seen the potential of the SUV market and wanted a piece of the pie as well. More wealthy people are looking for practically when making their next big purchase and with an SUV to offer to the market, Bentley might very well have found its next big seller. Porsche has recently announced that since the inception of the Porsche Cayenne SUV, it very quickly rose to being its best-seller, even out-selling its bread and butter car, the 911.

Bentley’s CEO, Wolfgang Schreiber, has also said that the company has received over 2,000 confirmed orders for the new SUV even without even released confirmed pictures or specification of the new SUV. This does go a long way to show the brand loyalty that currently Bentley owners have for the brand.

Although pricing has not been released, Bentley themselves have noted that it would be competing directly with a fully-optioned Range Rover Sport and we don’t expect pricing to be too far off. Of course, a slight premium would have to be paid over the Range Rover just for the exclusivity of owning a Bentley.

We’ll update as more information comes but for now, just enjoy the pictures.
